Had a look at the Opel Aus site...very good.
Looks like the cars will be well appointed, but the engines don't look like anything special,.....actually the 2L diesel looked like a good bet to me.
The GTC?.....a lovely shape....but then again the engine does not excite me.....but maybe the 200KW 2L version to be released in March will be good.
So, I reckon ALL of the proposed Aussie Opels will be good for the ordinary driver, but for those of us looking for some performance.....it appears that we will have to wait a bit longer.
Does anyone know through which Dealers they will be sold, or will Opel be "stand alone" in its own Dealerships?
Cheers, Pickles.

They are being pitched as "Stand Alone" however a few of the Holden Dealerships have put their hands up.

Just read in the paper today that Opel say they will have 20 Dealers, & that maybe half of them will be Holden Dealers.

That's what I thought as well pickles. According to teir site the insignia doesn't even get the v6! I would have been tempted if it did but with 160kw in a family sedan?.. I don't think so.

Well, that OPC car LOOKS REALLY nice, but once again, if I've read correctly, the "good" engine is only 200KW......not really good enough in today's market, with those hot little Citroens & Renaults running around, not to mention the Focus RS(that I used to own!)......and I've gotta say this....that video?......well there's the presenter talking about a "performance" car.....and he says nothing about the engine?!!!
Cheers, Pickles.

Yeah, it's about 206kw. A little bit off the RS, but then again I think it may handle better and also at a cheaper price (I would hope!).

The LNF engine has been used in the US for quite some time so upgrades are pretty cheap, so that's a bonus for a Euro car Smiley

G'Day Rory, you'll obviously be waiting for the Nurburgring Edition, before getting your order in?!

Will be keeping mine for quite some time, turning it into a more track orientated car.

In saying that, i'll be taking one out for a drive to compare when they get here Smiley

Well Rory, they'll probably do another VXR won't they?....which would be a level above the OPC car shown in this thread?
Cheers, Martin.
